International Research
International Web Surveys
Over half a billion people worldwide have Internet access. In 2005, roughly 15% of the world's population uses the Internet. Usage penetration levels in the European Union are nearing 49%, and 60%-70% in major Asia markets and North America. Used appropriately, the Internet makes it easy to survey populations from a great distance. In some cases, web surveys can provide a substantial financial savings over a telephone methodology.Market Decisions' Web Surveys are designed to handle any language and conduct surveys simultaneously in multiple languages. Our special translation module allows efficient management of questionnaire translations upfront, as well as fast and precise translation of open-ended verbatim responses. International Phone Surveys
We run our field around the clock and conduct surveys across the world's time zones. We administer English language surveys (U.K., Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, etc.), and we currently conduct Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and French (among other languages) surveys using our own multi-lingual staff members. For larger projects we augment our services through a network of international research partners. And we have resources for data collection in countries where phone methodologies are not currently appropriate (such as India and Vietnam).Translations
Good translation management is an essential element of successful international research.
Working with today's frantic schedules and short deadlines, handling last-minute changes
gracefully - while staying within budget -- is a challenge from which many market research companies
shy away. Not only do documents need to be accurately translated;
they need to be "fine-tuned" for each particular country or region within a country.
Careful management is essential in ensuring meaning is conveyed consistently across different
cultures. Market Decisions has established relationships with professional translators.
Translation efficiency is enhanced through the use of web-enabled translation management systems
which ease the flow of documents to and from translators all over the globe.
GlobalCATI International Phone Surveys
In the case of large projects, or projects that include many different countries, it is more efficient to contract interviewers in target countries. Market Decisions partners with several research companies around the world to facilitate such projects. But rather than simply sub-contracting the interviewing to other companies, we utilize a web-based telephone interviewing (CATI) system, which Market Decisions developed specifically for this situation: GlobalCATI. Interviewers around the world can log on to a secure website and conduct the survey in a fashion similar to using the traditional telephone "CATI" software (Computer Aided Telephone Interviewing) There are several advantages to using GlobalCATI:- Market Decisions directly manages all translations to ensure they are consistent from country to country.
- Market Decisions' programmers set up the survey. This is done one time, and thus, programming and set up is consistent from country to country. GlobalCATI is also designed to allow for multiple translations. With a single source for programming and setup, clients save time and money.
- Data is received by Market Decisions in "real time." We know exactly when our sub-contracted interviewers start; we watch their progress, and we monitor the quality of the returned data. We can also monitor interviewers around the world and ensure that quality standards are being met.
- With the data being collected all in one place - in Market Decisions' proprietary, secure database - we can begin data cleaning and analysis immediately. We don't have to wait for the sub-contractors to wrap up their portion of the project and send the data to us. And we never have to spend time matching formats that vary from vendor to vendor.
- With data collected in "real time" via the Internet, on-line "real time" reporting is available to the client. You can see your data as it's collected.
- The centrally managed, GlobalCATI approach simplifies the research process, and reduces the fielding time substantially. You'll get your data faster.
